Collection: Demokrazy Day

Democracy Day was created at the start of Nigeria’s Fourth Republic to commemorate the end of military rule, the return of rule of law, and the development of free and fair Governance in Nigeria. This year’s celebration arrives shortly after the 1 year anniversary of the inauguration of our latest Government, and not much has changed from the years before. The 3 Arms of Nigeria’s Government continue to subvert due process and ignore the voices of the people.

To mark the enduring spark of the people’s choice amidst the chaos and suppression by our ruling class, Lẹ́wà market, in conjunction with the legendary Artist Lemi Ghariokwu, have curated a limited edition print collection of 6 of his pieces titled “Demokrazy Day.” Lemi Ghariokwu, whose work has long championed Pan-Africanist, populist and anti-imperialist ideals, is the perfect person to lend his voice to this collection.
